10 Best Double Strollers for Disney World

As a mother of three who was headed to Disney in June 2019 following the new double stroller restrictions, I was more than a little spazzed.

With two young children being official Disney stroller age (5&3), the need for a double stroller in my vacation plans was great. This mama does NOT intend on ever being the one with two kids melting down because they have nowhere to nap. (All while the preteen rolls her eyes, trying to fall asleep standing up.)

Doing Disney with a stroller is the only way.

Disney had officially released a statement, which many initially received as an email communication, stating that strollers “greater than 31″ wide and 52″ in length” are going to be a no-go. This was to ensure those who prefer a double stroller over a single stroller can still fit through any tight spaces in the parks.

They are putting a ban on stroller wagons as well, so you are not cutting that corner Susan.

How do you Find the Perfect Double Strollers for Disney World?

Walt Disney World News Today stated that most double strollers would fit the requirements without issues. What I found, however, was that the majority of popular double side-by-side strollers on the market measure 31.5″, which is not going to make the 31″ cut on measurement.

I don’t know about you, but I am not getting all the way up to the front gates of any of the Disney Parks to get turned away over a half an inch.

Therefore, in my own melt-down frenzy over the new stroller policy, I have devised the following list of strollers that DO meet the width and length guidelines, and put together this list of the best double strollers for Disney World.

Good News! This will cut out the leg work for you, and make you less crazy than I was over this policy change!

*As of the date of this answer, these are the most highly sought after double strollers for Disney World on the market. These will also work for Disneyland Resorts policies. (Might as well take them to Disney Springs while you are at it too!)

Tandem Stroller Options

These strollers are your traditional, 4-wheel sets on the ground type of stroller. As far as the best double strollers for Disney World choices go, tandems they each have some solid pro’s and con’s, but I will let you be the judge.

Since they are made for jogging, these strollers tend to have amazing steering, and rolls over most terrains with ease. These make my list of the best double strollers for Disney World because they will take you over the bricks, wood planked walkways, carpeted ride area’s, and paved paths with ease.

Extra Considerations Before You Head to the Disney Theme Parks

Ok, so you are ready to head off with the kiddos to the most magical place and tackle Disney. Just a few extra considerations for you to consider.

First off, you know how every “what to take with you in the parks” post has told you to take ponchos for adults and any older children? I would also recommend grabbing a double stroller rain cover like this one. Those rain showers pop up out of nowhere in Florida and no one likes a wet seat.

Also, you will forever catch me telling moms to grab one of these stroller fans for their upcoming trip. Florida is also hot. Stupid hot. And since you took the time to find the right stroller, this little bit of extra comfort is probably a good idea. You will thank me later.

One last tip, be sure to ask a cast member when you get into the parks where you can find the baby care center for that park. All of the Disney parks have baby care centers that will provide a bit of relief from the loud and heat/wet of the day. Knowing right away where these are will help your life immensely.

Crazy Mom Talk on the Best Double Strollers for Disney World

Ok mama, so this list is probably not comprehensive of EVERY stroller Disney World compatible double side-by-side stroller that is going to be allowed through the gates, but this should give you a good starting point. (And take some of the stress of finding a side-by-side off your shoulders!)

When it comes to finding the BEST STROLLER though, I was more than a little partial to the Joovy mentioned at the top of this post. We used it to hold our younger and older kids alike when little legs got tired. It provided a smooth ride, was perfect for the size requirements, and was all around a great stroller, adding to our magical trip.

Of course, in the event you decide taking your own stroller is too much work, you can always check with one of the Orlando stroller rental locations and see what rental strollers they have available. With multi-day rentals, and most rental companies offering stroller delivery and pick-up from your resort, many parents lean towards this option.
