Epic Stay at the Isle Casino and Hotel Bettendorf Iowa

Looking for a great location for a romantic, midwest weekend getaway? Look no further than the Isle Casino and Hotel in Bettendorf, Iowa.

This year for Christmas, Dustin and I decided that in lieu of traditional gifts, we wanted to get each other experiences. Small trips or getaways where just the two of us could take a break from the day to day, and create memories with each other.

For my trip, Dustin choose to take me to the Quad Cities, an area located on the Illinois/Iowa border. This area was full of neat little shops, craft breweries, and home to the Isle Casino and Hotel Bettendorf.

Initially chosen due to its proximity to a local ski and snow park (Dustin’s original plan was to take me skiing for the first time ever, which was later vetoed due to -2 degree windchill.) the last place we expected to wind up was in a casino for the weekend. However, when an opportunity presented itself for us to check out the location, we couldn’t pass it up.

Now, we find ourselves wondering just how soon we can plan a trip back for another visit to this Bettendorf Iowa hotel.

The Staff

For me, one of the things that will make or break any lodging location is their staff.

The staff at the Isle Casino and Hotel Bettendorf however were quick to impress! From the time we walked into the building, to the time we checked out, we were met by smiles and friendly individuals who truly wanted to ensure the best of your stay, not just get paid to make sure you were happy.

Even during peak business times for this Bettendorf Iowa hotel, if you walked past an employee, they were sure to greet you and most even asked if there was anything they could help you with. For being rated a three-star location, this was well above the customer service level that I went in expecting.

The staff here sure know how to make you feel like a VIP whether you are a regular, or just getting away for the weekend. To have such accommodating staff at a hotel attached to one of the casinos in Quad cities was impressive.

More than once I have found hotels of this nature to be so busy that the staff did not have time for you past check-in. It was so great to see this wasn’t the case for this Bettendorf Iowa hotel!

The Amenities at the Bettendorf Iowa Hotel

We did not have time to partake in every amenity the Isle Casino and Hotel Bettendorf had to offer. We did, however, take a minute to check out some of the different area’s so that you could see them!

First off, I have to say this hotel is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and for the price you pay for the rooms, you feel like you are staying in a much more upscale location! From the multiple seating area’s scattered around the hotel, to the walkways that provide gorgeous views of the surrounding area, I was in awe of the location overall.

The hotel does boast a nice sized pool area that includes a hot tub (though the hot tub was occupied when we were there so I did not share photos.). There is also a fairly large exercise room on location that was immaculately clean and had a large variety of equipment for guest use.

Another great feature of this Bettendorf Iowa hotel is that there are three (3!!!) restaurants on site, as well as a bar. More on the food below, but just know, you can almost always find a bite to eat without leaving the hotel.

The Room at Isle Casino and Hotel

During our stay at the Isle Casino and Hotel Bettendorf, we stayed in the King Executive Suite on the 12th floor of the North Tower of the hotel. Guys, as far as hotel rooms go, this was probably the nicest room that we have ever stayed in.

Our room had not one, but TWO bathrooms, a full living area complete with television, a mini kitchenette area with mini fridge, a small office area with an amazing view, a separate bedroom area with a king sized bed and closet (and another TV and Bose stereo system). The second bathroom in the suite was seriously AMAZING and pretty much made the stay.

In the second bathroom, there was a glass shower with dual shower heads, a large soaking tub complete with another TV, a large room-length mirror with his and her sinks, and another separate toilet area. I honestly kicked Dustin out of this bathroom shortly after arriving and dubbed it mine. (Don’t worry, it wasn’t long before he was trying out the tub while I was curling my hair to hit the town!)

The other amazing thing about our room was the view of the Mississippi River from the bedroom of the suite. While it was an icy, snowy tundra outside during our stay, it was still amazing to be able to watch the sun come up (yes, my third shift husband made me leave the warm, king sized bed to watch the sun come up) over the river.

THIS. ROOM. WAS. KILLER.

The Food at Isle Casino and Hotel

As previously stated, the Isle Casino and Hotel Bettendorf has three restaurants, including a quick service location, on site for your dining needs, the Farmer’s Pick Buffet, Keller’s American Grill, and Keller’s Express.

During our stay, we ate at both Keller’s Express (quick service), and the Farmer’s Pick Buffet. While we did not make it to Keller’s American Grill, if the food from the other two locations holds any bearing on the quality, it would have to be an excellent dining experience.

As for the Keller’s Express, we grabbed some egg rolls and pops here really quick on our way out to see the cities. While waiting on the egg roll’s witnessed several dishes come up that I wished I would have gotten instead, though we were just there for a quick snack. our overall wait time from ordering to food’s arrival was about ten minutes, and our snacks were served up hot, fresh, and were very tasty! Also, it should be noted that there was an ice cream counter at this restaurant as well for any of you who love a good sweet treat!

Due to the nasty conditions of the roads thanks to the winter storm in the area, we were very thankful to be able to grab dinner at the Farmer’s Pick Buffet within the hotel. Located just outside of the casino, this buffet held many of your usual American buffet dishes, alongside freshly prepared Chinese cuisine, crab legs, and prime rib. Also, the dessert selection here had me quickly forgetting my diet and acting like a kid again electing to get three desserts in lieu of a second plate.

Yep, no shame.

Seriously though, we were beyond impressed with the food choices and quality that was served on site. It really made the trip that much less stressful, especially with the weather we were having! It was so nice that it was also so close to one of the casinos in Quad Cities!

The Casino

So obviously I cannot tell you about the Isle Casino and Hotel Bettendorf without hitting on the casino, so here goes!

Being only my second time setting foot in a casino, again, I was beyond thankful for the staff and their willingness to help a couple of gambling illiterates get set up! We were literally able to walk up to the back counter, confess we had no clue what we were doing, and we were set up in minutes, ready to play!

This location also boasted gambling tables for cards/dice/etc, alongside of a TON of machines that allowed you to play for a little as pennies on the dollar per play. Not being big gamblers, my husband and I each started with $25 each to bet on and we managed to play for just over an hour. (He walked out with $26 dollars, and we are not talking about where mine went.)

The casino is also where The Lone Wolf Bar is located, making it super convenient to grab a drink while you play!

Overall, I was very impressed by the cleanliness of this area, as well as the selection of games they had to play. I may not have known what I was doing, but I still managed to have a lot of fun pretending I did! As far as Casino’s go in Bettendorf Iowa, I would call this one a win!

Crazy Mom Talk About This Bettendorf Iowa Hotel

Guys, our weekend away at the Isle Casino and Hotel Bettendorf was so very needed. Honestly, this trip was way better than we expected. While this location was a four hour drive from home, it’s one that we are willing to make again. The accommodations in this Bettendorf Iowa hotel alone were worth the trip!

While this trip served as an amazing, adults only weekend, it should be noted that this Bettendorf Iowa hotel obviously does allow children as well. Kids are welcome in pretty much any area of the hotel aside from the casino (obviously little Tommy cannot go get his gambling on). We did see a couple of families on site during our visit.

Have you been to an Isle Casino location, or even visited their Bettendorf location yourself? Looking forward to making your own trip after checking out this post? Let me know in the comments below!
